Terms of service

The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and ArmoTech Corporation (“we”, “us”), the maker of Qwhiz. They cover the Qwhiz app and qwhiz.ai. By playing Qwhiz or making an account, you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Qwhiz.

Who can play

Qwhiz is for people 13 and older. If you’re under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian should read these terms with you and agree to them, including any purchases you make.

Your account

• Give a real email address you can get to, and keep your password to yourself.
• One account per person. An account is personal and can’t be sold, shared or transferred.
• You’re responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us at support@qwhiz.ai if you think someone else is using it.

Play fair

Don’t:

• use bots, scripts, modified apps or anyone else’s help to answer for you;
• exploit bugs, or make extra accounts to farm coins, trophies or wins;
• harass, threaten or spam other players, including with repeated challenges;
• try to get into accounts, servers or data that aren’t yours, or disrupt the service;
• sell, buy or trade accounts, coins or looks.

If we find cheating, we can remove the results, reset trophies or coins earned from it, and suspend online play.

Names and what you share

Your player name, username and avatar are shown to other players, and on challenge pages to the people you invite. Keep them friendly: no hate, slurs, sexual content, impersonation or personal details. We may reset a name that breaks these rules. You give us permission to show what you put in your profile wherever Qwhiz shows it.

Q Coins and looks

• Q Coins and avatar looks are a limited licence to use in Qwhiz. They aren’t money or property, have no cash value, and can’t be cashed out, transferred or sold.
• Coins don’t expire, but they are lost if your account is deleted or closed for breaking these terms.
• Coins can’t buy answers, time, wins or trophies, and are never staked on a challenge.
• Prices in coins, what coins buy, and the looks in the Item Shop can change. A look you already own stays yours.
• If coins or items land on your account by mistake, we may correct it.

Purchases and refunds

Coin packs are bought through the App Store, under Apple’s terms. Apple handles payment and refund requests. If a pack is refunded, its coins are removed, and your balance can go below zero until you earn more. Except where the law or the store’s policy gives you a right to a refund, purchases are final.

Players under 18 can buy up to US$50 of coins a month.

Optional ads

You can choose to watch an ad for coins, up to a daily limit. Coins are credited when the ad network tells us the ad finished. Ad availability isn’t guaranteed, and we may change the reward or the limit.

Questions and answers

Questions are written with the help of AI and checked, but some may be wrong or out of date. Qwhiz is a game, not a source of advice. If you spot a wrong question, tell us and we’ll fix it. We may correct results affected by a wrong question.

Our game and our rights

Qwhiz, its questions, design, characters and logo belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive licence to use the app for your own entertainment. We may change, add or remove features, and may stop offering Qwhiz; if we do, we’ll give reasonable notice where we can.

Suspending or closing accounts

You can delete your account at any time (how). We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or where the law requires it. Where it’s fair to, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

No guarantees

We work hard to keep Qwhiz running and fair, but it’s provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise it will always be available, error-free or that results will never need correcting.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or CA$50 if more. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can’t be limited by contract, including under the Quebec Consumer Protection Act.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the province where ArmoTech Corporation has its head office and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, unless the law where you live says otherwise. Please contact us first, and we’ll try to sort it out.

Changes

We may update these terms. We’ll change the date at the top and tell you in the app or by email before an important change takes effect. If you keep playing after that, the new terms apply.
